Goal: Fight back against excessive ticketing and fining through representation
Cabdrivers are currently the most vulnerable group of people when it comes to receiving tickets. In addition to parking and traffic tickets, they are often targeted by the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection and end up paying thousands of dollars in unfair fines. Cabdrivers are often subjected to such fines because they are usually unable to afford to retain reliable attorneys to fight on their behalf. UTCC is currently in the early stages of establishing legal services to offer to members so that when they are the victims of such unfair practices, they have the ability to retain reliable, affordable and dependable legal assistance from attorneys or law firms that UTCC contracts with.
